General Moving Questions

What areas do you serve?
We serve 12 Colorado counties and dozens of mountain communities. Summit County: Silverthorne, Dillon, Breckenridge, Frisco, Keystone, Copper Mountain, Blue River. Park County: Alma, Fairplay. Lake County: Leadville. Eagle County: Vail, Beaver Creek, Edwards, Eagle, Minturn, Red Cliff, Gypsum. Pitkin County: Aspen, Snowmass Village, Basalt, Carbondale. Garfield County: Glenwood Springs, Rifle, New Castle, Parachute. Grand County: Winter Park, Fraser, Granby, Grand Lake, Hot Sulphur Springs, Kremmling. Clear Creek County: Georgetown, Idaho Springs. Routt County: Steamboat Springs, Yampa, Oak Creek, Hayden, Clark. Moffat County: Craig, Maybell. Jackson County: Walden, Cowdrey. Rio Blanco County: Meeker, Rangely. Mesa County: Grand Junction, Fruita, Palisade, De Beque. We also serve the Denver metro area and provide statewide long-distance moving services throughout Colorado.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, Majestic Mountain Movers is fully licensed and insured. We hold Colorado PUC License No. HHG-00576 and USDOT No. 3225248. This means your belongings are protected throughout your move, giving you complete peace of mind.
How far in advance should I book my mountain move?
We recommend booking 2-4 weeks in advance, especially during peak summer months (June-September) and ski season. However, we understand that moves don't always happen on your schedule — contact us and we'll do our best to accommodate last-minute requests.
Do you work in winter and bad weather?
Yes! As a mountain moving company, we're experienced in navigating Colorado's winter conditions. Our trucks carry chains and shovels at all times to handle snowy roads and driveways. Our crews are trained for safe winter moving, and we monitor weather closely and communicate proactively about any potential delays.
What makes mountain moving different from regular moving?
Mountain moves present unique challenges: steep driveways, narrow roads, tight turns, elevation changes, and unpredictable weather. Our crews live and work at altitude, so they don't experience the fatigue issues that Denver-based movers often face when working at 9,000+ feet. Our trucks are equipped with air-ride suspension and proper tires for mountain terrain. We know the quirks of every neighborhood from Breckenridge to Vail.

Pricing & Estimates

How much do movers cost in Summit County?
Moving costs in Summit County depend on factors like distance, home size, access challenges, and services needed. Every move is unique, which is why we provide free, no-obligation estimates tailored to your specific situation. Contact us to schedule an estimate and we'll give you transparent pricing with no hidden fees.
Do you charge by the hour or offer flat rates?
For local and long-distance moves within Colorado, we charge hourly — the clock starts when our movers leave our office and stops when they return. For overnight moves, the clock stops at the hotel and resumes when they leave the next day. For interstate moves, we offer guaranteed pricing by the truckload. The accuracy of your estimate depends on you providing complete information about everything being moved and the level of service you need. Things that can affect your final bill versus your estimate include: adding items on move day, changing your level of service, forgotten items (like that stuff in the barn or garage), or access issues requiring long carries from the truck. The more detail you share upfront, the more accurate your estimate will be.
Are there any hidden fees I should know about?
No hidden fees. We believe in transparent pricing. Your estimate includes labor, truck, fuel, and basic equipment. We'll discuss any potential additional costs upfront, such as specialty item handling or extra-long carries, before your move day.
Do you require a deposit?
We require a 50% fully refundable deposit to secure your moving date, which is applied to your final bill. The remaining balance is due upon completion of your move. We accept all major credit cards and checks.

Packing & Unpacking

Do you offer packing and unpacking services?
Absolutely! We offer full-service packing and unpacking to make your move completely stress-free. Our professional packers use high-quality materials to ensure your belongings are protected. For unpacking, we unwrap items and place them on flat surfaces — kitchen items on counters, dining items on tables, etc. We can also hang artwork and mirrors for you. We handle everything from dishes to artwork to entire home offices. We also offer haul-away of packing materials for an additional fee.
Can I pack some things myself and have you pack the rest?
Yes! We offer partial packing services. Many customers pack their everyday items and have us handle fragile items, kitchens, or specialty pieces. We're flexible and can customize our services to your needs and budget.
What packing materials do you use?
We use professional-grade materials: double-walled boxes, clean inkless newsprint, custom picture boxes, wardrobe boxes, and heavy-duty tape. Properly used newsprint provides excellent protection without the need for bubble wrap. Our materials are specifically chosen to protect your belongings during mountain moves where items may shift on winding roads.
Do you provide boxes and packing supplies?
Yes, we can provide all necessary packing supplies. We offer box kits for different home sizes, or you can purchase individual supplies. We also offer eco-friendly options and can pick up boxes after your move for recycling.

Specialty Items

Can you move pianos?
Yes! We specialize in piano moving, including uprights, baby grands, and full grand pianos. Our team uses specialized equipment including piano boards, straps, and padding. We understand the unique challenges of moving pianos up mountain driveways and into homes with tight spaces. We also work with crane services when needed for difficult access situations.
Can you move safes and gun safes?
Absolutely. We regularly move safes weighing 500-1,500+ lbs. We have the equipment (stair climbers, dollies, straps) and expertise to safely navigate these heavy items through your home and into our trucks. We also work with crane services when needed for difficult access situations.
Do you move hot tubs?
Yes, hot tub moving is one of our specialties. We transport hot tubs safely but do not disconnect or reconnect them — you'll need a licensed electrician and plumber for those services. We also work with crane services when needed for difficult access situations.
Do you move pool tables?
Yes, we disassemble and move pool tables. However, you will need to hire a pool table specialist to wax, refelt, and level the table at your new location — we do not provide those services. We also work with crane services when needed for difficult access situations.
What about antiques and valuable artwork?
We treat antiques and artwork with extra care. We use custom crating, acid-free materials, and climate considerations for sensitive pieces. Our crews are trained in proper handling techniques for delicate and valuable items.

Storage

Do you offer storage in Summit County?
Yes, we offer secure, insulated storage in Silverthorne. Our storage is full-service: we pad-wrap and inventory all items, and access is by appointment. It's ideal for between-moves storage, remodel storage, seasonal residents, or long-term needs. We charge by the cubic foot.
Is your storage climate-controlled?
Our main storage facility is insulated but not heated. Items are pad-wrapped for protection. We do have limited climate-controlled storage available for certain temperature-sensitive items. Contact us to discuss your specific needs and we'll determine the best storage solution.
Can I access my stored items anytime?
Our storage is full-service, not self-storage. Access is by appointment only. This ensures your items remain secure and properly organized. We can retrieve specific items for you with advance notice.
How is storage priced?
We charge by the cubic foot, making it easy to pay only for the space you need. Contact us for a storage estimate based on your inventory.

Long-Distance & Interstate Moving

Do you move out of state?
Yes! We're fully licensed for interstate moves (USDOT No. 3225248). We regularly move customers to and from neighboring states and across the country. Our dedicated trucks mean your belongings are loaded once and delivered directly — no warehouses or transfers.
How does interstate pricing work?
Interstate moves are priced by the truckload based on distance. No mixed loads, no shuttles, no fuel surcharges — your belongings travel on a dedicated truck. We offer guaranteed pricing with guaranteed pickup and delivery dates based on your schedule.
How long does a long-distance move take?
We get your preferred move-out date and your preferred move-in date, then plan a move that meets both of those needs. Timing depends on distance and logistics — moves within Colorado typically complete in 1-3 days, while interstate moves may take 3-10 days depending on destination.

Guys had a positive attitude and really tried to make my day! I used this company before and they didn't try to nickel and dime me like other companies.

My crew was awesome! And Josh was so easy to work with. Answered questions day and night, very responsive, and was in communication throughout. The 2 guys who moved me did a great job navigating three small spaces. They worked really hard and quickly. Best of all, my price came in hundreds lower than the estimate. I would highly recommend them!

They were so polite and did a great job! We had a really difficult move (lots of stuff in 2 houses). These guys were great! They worked nonstop. We have moved A LOT and these were the best movers we've ever had.

I don't leave many reviews because I just get inundated with the request but majestic movers did a fantastic job. We are moving from a Beavercreek townhome to a Winter Park house. The team packed up the whole townhome and moved us into the Winter Park house. There was a team of three, they were so polite asked questions very respectful of the house, which I appreciated. We are a shoe free house and they accommodated that!! Things were so well packed, (I mean really well) everything came out in one piece. The movers were so helpful. A great bunch of guys that we are grateful to. I hope never to move again but would certainly use their services without thinking twice..
