Will Movers Move Alcohol?
Will Movers Move Alcohol?
We often have prospective client believe we can’t move alcohol. Will movers move alcohol? Yes, we will. Alcohol is simply a liquid and part of your personal goods. We are able to, and happy to move your alcohol for you. We have been honored to help people move anywhere from a healthy stash of regular drinking bottles to high end collections of wine saved for investment. A few basic rules apply regardless of what you have.
Packing Alcohol Well
Because alcohol is a liquid we want to ensure the containers are secure and that we use strong boxes specifically designed to transport bottles. The unfortunate outcome of leakage would be dangerous for your other goods. With respect to boxing, liquor and wine bottles are often a unique size and if we can’t close an improperly sized box the glassware within is unprotected. Unopened bottles are generally safe, and if a bottle has been opened we will work with you to ensure the contents are secure. You may want to consider slimming down your collection prior to move day! That is up to you, of course.
Keep Temperature in Mind
Wine is best kept at a consistent temperature and the ideal temperature is between 45 and 65 degrees. See more here about some wine storage basics. While moving there are a variety of conditions your goods will be exposed to and we need to work together to plan for that.
If in winter in the mountains, temperatures can drop to well below the ideal 45 degrees for months at a time and this can damage your wine. For storage you may want to look at temperature controlled storage that provides some heat for your alcohol. In summer our mountain climates don’t get too hot, so we have more flexibility. If you are moving to a warmer climate, as many of our clients do, we will want to plan for a place to deliver your wine or alcohol to a place that keeps the temperature below 70 degrees.
Can movers move alcohol? Yes we can! We will see you on moving day!
