Sectional Sofa Madness has hit the mountains! Owners from Breckenridge, Frisco and Dillon have handily defeated owners from Vail, Avon and Edwards when it comes to moving volume for sectional sofas.
Looking at what people move from and to their mountain homes and comparing those communities there are nearly three times as many sofa sections moving to and from Breckenridge, Frisco and Dillon than there are from the communities in the west. Why does the east of Vail pass crowd get sofa sectional Gold while the crown from the west brings home the Silver?
At Majestic Mountain Movers we have a data set of what people take when they move from or to their mountain home. Seventy percent of homes sold in our local communities are sold furnished and when those people move they take only the items they most value. We have insight into what our mountain neighbors consider most valuable as they change homes.
When we looked at a data set of people moving to and from these respective areas, the number of sofa sections going along for the ride is much higher from the eastern side of Vail Pass than from the west. This is a count of each sofa section that we here at Majestic Labs use for load planning and equipment usage. Looking at the numbers, we have a clear winner.
Sectional Sofa Madness – Why?
Could it be that there is more rumpus in the rumpus rooms in Breckenridge than there are in Vail? Perhaps folks in Edwards prefer all new sofas when they move and consider sofas disposable? Maybe as we move west the sofa is more a leave behind than a vital part of the family’s gear.

Get thee to Silverthorne! People on the west side of Vail pass seem to buy their sofa sections as an addition to their houses. On the east side of the pass, people seem to see sofa sections as family heirlooms. You will achieve all of your sales objectives by focusing on the correct crowd.
Our data analysis chose an equally sized sample set from both sides of Vail Pass and only homes that were sold fully furnished for a good comparison. This is Science after all!
